Concept one
Inspired by theatre production design and Gregory Crewdson’s photography styling - The lighting and settings are clearly staged, as if they are built for a play that hasn’t started yet. Spotlights and projections are used to accentuate the largely sparse stage setups. There is a calm emptiness, and a deliberate craft to to the portrayal - representing the facade of the perfect American family.
Concept TWO
I also explored a main title look that focused on archival elements - using macro photography to warp, reveal and focus on carefully curated crops of bending, distorting family photos and documents.
